Database Administrator - Intermediate

1.   University degree at the Bachelor level in Computer Science, Engineering (Systems, Software, Electrical); and

2.   a minimum three (3) years in the last eight (8) years were fulfilling the role of a Database Administrator as defined in at least four (4) of the mandatory experience paragraphs detailed herein;

OR

3.   University degree at the Bachelor level in Science, Engineering (other than listed in a), Mathematics; and

4.   a minimum of four (4) years in the last eight (8) years fulfilling the role of a Database Administrator as defined in at least four (4) of the mandatory experience paragraphs detailed herein;

OR

5.   Community College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering Technology; and

6.   a minimum three (3) years in the last eight (8) years were fulfilling the role of a Database Administrator as defined in at least four (4) of the mandatory experience paragraphs detailed herein;

OR

    a.  Experience installing and configuring database server
         software using on eor more of the following products:
         Oracle or Sybase or Gemstone or Objectivity or DB2
         or retreivalware; for a production system environment.

    b.  Experience in creating and implementing database
         backup and recovery and restoration strategies and
         procedures for a production system environment.
         Must include experience in all of the following:

i.   database backup;

ii.   database recovery and restorations.

    c.  Experience in establishing and maintaining database
         environments for production systems as well as testing
         or development or staging systems.

    d.  Experience in database performance tuning. Must include
         at least one of the following:

i.   physical database optimization;

ii.   logical database optimization;

iii.  query optimization for a production system
     environment.

    e.  Experience in database and data migration for a
         production system environment. This may include
         conversion of a production database from one product
         to another or changing database servers.

    f.  Experience in identifying and resolving integration issues
        requiring input from application development or systems
        administration areas.

    g.  Experience in administering databases for greater than
        100 concurrent users.

    h.  Experience in implementing multi-level security for data
         contained in a production database.
