POSITION:

UNIX Systems Administrator – Intermediate

EDUCATION MANDATORY:

1.   University degree at the Bachelor level in Computer Science, Engineering (Computer or Software or Electrical); and

2.   a minimum three (3) years in the last eight (8) years were fulfilling the role of a UNIX Systems Administrator as defined in at least three (3) of the mandatory experience paragraphs detailed herein;

OR

3.   University degree at the Bachelor level in Science, Engineering (other than listed in a), Mathematics; and

4.   a minimum of four (4) years in the last eight (8) years fulfilling the role of a UNIX Systems Administrator as defined in at least three (3) of the mandatory experience paragraphs detailed herein;

OR

5.   Community College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering Technology; and

6.   a minimum three (3) years in the last eight (8) years were fulfilling the role of a UNIX Systems Administrator as defined in at least three (3) of the mandatory experience paragraphs detailed herein;

OR

7.   A minimum of six (6) years in the last ten (10) years fulfilling the role of a UNIX Systems Administrator as defined in at least three (3) of the mandatory experience paragraphs detailed herein;
 

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE:


    a.  Experience in performing UNIX performance tuning, in
         a heterogeneous network environment.

    b.  Experience in multiple application integration on a single
         UNIX server.

    c.  Experience in creating and administering UNIX network
         file systems in a heterogeneous network environment

    d.  Experience administering UNIX network storage systems
         in a heterogeneous network environment.

    e.  Experience in applying IT security in a UNIX network
         environment. Must include at least one of the following:
         hardening UNIX Operating Systems or administration
         of Firewall or IDS Systems.

    f.  Experience performing two or more of the following: setup
        or configuration or problem analysis or administration of
        UNIX Enterprise hardware or high availability hardware,
        in a heterogeneous network environment.
